Seattle's distinguishing gifts to the discerning tourist come ostensibly in the form of its imaginative and varied family activities. Your Seattle family vacation package will be crammed full with the outdoor activities afforded by the surrounding landscape. Seattle and the Puget Sound represent paradise for those of you who enjoy the water and Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helen's and the Snoqualmie Pass will stretch your legs and your imagination with plenty of hiking, camping and biking opportunities.

Family activities and culture

The Seattle Center is your family vacation destination 'one-stop-shop' and is home to the city's famous landmark, the Space Needle. This is really rather handy when you consider that, within this 74-acre site, you'll find scientific, athletic and cultural venues of world class standard, varied enough to interest even the choosiest family member.

Seattle Good Time Top 10

  1. The giant Bumbershoot festival; culture and art at the Seattle Center each Labor Day Weekend
  2. The first, the original Starbuck's coffee bar at 1508 Pike Place. Sit 'sofa-style' and ponder the international appeal of the coffee bean.
  3. The Tractor Tavern for a serving of alt-country music acts
  4. The Sitting Room; the wine bar with an added avant-garde theater shows
  5. Beat those sightseeing hunger pangs with a super-special sandwich from Italian deli, Salumi.
  6. Feeling brave? In a mood to commit? Buy some body art at Anchor Tattoo
  7. The Six Seven seafood restaurant for great fish dishes served with a view
  8. During May, the International Children's Festival is a celebration of the children's arts it'd be a crime to miss. Lots of free stuff too!
  9. Pageants, parades and boat races at the community-wide Seafair festival in August
  10. Paddle around lake Union and then replenish those lost calories at the Aqua Verde Paddle Club
