Family Fun in San Diego

Nothing says family vacation quite as much as sunny beaches, a world-famous zoo, and theme parks like none other. San Diego is a hot vacation spot for your family - literally and figuratively!

Soul Food for the Family

Many people would argue that if we spent more time having fun as a family and enjoying each other's company, we'd have closer, more nourishing relationships and, as the saying goes, 'a family that plays together stays together.' Well, there are lots of reasons why a San Diego family vacation package is a good place to continue your forays into family wonderland.

Get Ready, Get Set...

You could take packed lunches and ask everyone if they want anything particular in there that takes their fancy. It also means you don't have to fill up on those burgers and fries that your tummy won't thank you for when you're running around on La Jolla beach chasing the dog or the beach ball. Your San Diego all-inclusive family vacation shouldn't include indigestion!

You Don't Have to be Rich

I personally think that you don't have to spend a lot of money or should try to be too clever in order to find stuff that you can all enjoy on your San Diego family trip. The best things in life are free and so are many museums and parks.

The simple, old-fashioned family ways to enjoy yourself are definitely the best in my book, they keep everyone happy (however, hormonal teenagers may sometimes prove the exception to this rule!) But the traditional routes are comfortably familiar and protocol rarely changes.

San Diego, go, GO!

If you're stuck for an idea about where to start, consider the Gaslamp Quarter. It has a lot to offer; if you want to learn something about this part of town, the Gaslamp Historical Foundation on Island Avenue exists to do just that, offering tours around its home, William Heath Davis House, and around local buildings of special interest.

The Gaslamp Quarter is packed with first-class restaurants - that is if you didn't get time to pack your own lunch and you'll find galleries and shopping on 4th, 5th and 6th Avenues, including an extensive Wyatt Earp memorabilia collection in the Gaslamp Books book shop.
