 | | Research My Vacation > Timeshare > What is a timeshare? What is a Timeshare? Think of a timeshare as a personal investment in leisure. A timeshare allows you to take a romantic getaway, beach vacation, spa vacation, or ski trip to some of the world’s finest and most luxurious resorts. Best of all, you can invest in these and other vacation packages without buying or renting the property, or having to commit to a single location or time of year each time. And a time share vacation is an investment in another sense – you can sell your time share several years, or even decades, down the road, or leave it behind for your children. The large timeshare resales market is comprised of buyers and sellers worldwide. Here’s how it works: - You buy your vacation rental at a particular resort and time of year
- You may use your own vacation each year or swap it for an entirely different resort destination at a different time of the year
- It’s entirely up to you whether you want to go to Florida and relax on a beach for a week, hit the ski slopes or take an adventure-oriented vacation in the mountains. Because you’ve paid in advance, you will be taking a relatively cheap vacation every year.
How do You Trade? Once you buy your timeshare vacation property, you may use your week at your own resort or swap it for an entirely different resort destination. In fact, the system is set up for you to take your vacation at a different resort at a different time each year. It’s still a cheap trip, but to a totally different location. Only about two percent of timeshare owners opt to return to the same resort location at the same time each year. | | | Newsletter | | | |
