Old Mexico or New Mexico: Which All-Inclusive Vacation Package?

Deciding which vacation destination makes the best sense for you and your family or friends can be challenging. If you’re deciding between a Mexico or a New Mexico vacation package, here’s some information that can facilitate your decision.

Mexico

Mexico affords not only the opportunity for a great beach vacation, but an exciting cultural experience. When visiting Mexico, you can experience the cultural richness of Mexico City, where Spanish colonial architechture meets early 20th century Diego Rivera murals in the same town square. And not far from Mexico City you can gaze at the ancient Aztec pyramids, a site that is a must see on any trip to Mexico.

Mexico Beach Vacations

Mexico also offers an ideal landscape for relaxing in the sun. Acapulco, located on Mexico’s Pacific coast, is a popular beach town. The natural environment is lush and lends itself to outdoor activities such as hiking, picknicking and horseback riding.

Enjoy typical beach activities such as snorkeling, deep sea and inshore fishing, sunbathing and swimming. Cancun is an equally popular place to travel to in Mexico, and various vacation packages are available to tourists seeking all-inclusive packages to either resort. In Mexico the weather is warm in summer, usually in the mid to high 80s and is moderately cool in winter, making it a desirable destination year round.

Travel to Mexico can be a fun and culturally enriching experience. An all inclusive package in Mexico may also be a little cheaper than those for New Mexico, particularly if you travel off the beaten path.

In Mexico you’re traveling in a different country with a different language, which presents unique challenges as well as rewards. If you’re looking for a vacation that’s strictly for relaxation and rest, you might be better off to consider visiting a resort in New Mexico instead of Mexico.

New Mexico

New Mexico offers a very different - yet an arguably equally enriching - vacation experience. Santa Fe, known for its luxurious resorts, spas, and healthy lifestyle is a terrific place to relax and restore your mind and body.

Sante Fe is also home to a lively artist community and opportunities to view and buy local art are plentiful, as are museums to view the work of notable artists such as, Georgia O’Keefe.

The weather in New Mexico is moderate - dry and warm during summer, and cool in winter. However, it gets much cooler in parts of New Mexico than it does in Mexico, particularly in the northern areas, where the snowy alpine landscape draws bands of skiers each year.

Outdoor Activities in New Mexico

If you prefer the rugged landscape of mountains and wild rivers to smooth beaches, New Mexico may be the vacation of choice for you.

In the northern New Mexico town of Taos you can snow ski in winter, hike during summer, and explore the rich Native American culture year round.

The Red River, also located near Taos, is an all-season tourist destination. In winter, visitors come to snow ski and, during the summer, enjoy swimming, fishing, and hiking. An all-inclusive New Mexico vacation could include your accomodations, skiing or summer outdoor expeditions, as well as your transportation.

These are just a few details to consider when deciding on whether to make Mexico or New Mexico your next vacation. Both options are equally interesting and exciting, affording many opportunities for fun and relaxation.
